We hope your stay is safe, healthy, and relaxing. These guidelines help keep the cabin running smoothly for everyone who uses it.
📋 General Guidelines
- Please read through the guidelines at the start of your stay.
- All guests and visitors are asked to follow them.
- Treat the cabin with the same care you’d give your own home (or your grandma’s).
- Keep things tidy — let’s not feed the mice.
- No smoking inside; no illegal substances on the property.
- Park in front of the cabin.
- Leave a note in the guest book (usually on the desk in the front room).
- Leave the cabin just a little better than you found it 😊
🚽 Septic System — Be Kind!
Our cabin runs on love, laughter, and a septic system 💚
- Only flush toilet paper — no wipes, feminine products, or anything else.
- No grease, oils, coffee grounds, or food bits down the sink.
- Use the sink strainer and dump it into a trash bag.
- Freeze grease in a can and toss it when you leave.
- Keep the dish drain board positioned so water doesn’t sit on the wood countertops.
- All provided soaps and shampoos are septic‑safe.
🗑 Garbage & Recycling
There is no pickup service at the cabin.
- White can = trash
- Blue bucket (by the stove) = recycling
- Extra trash bags: left drawer of the white hutch
- Dispose of trash/recycling at the Island Park Dump (Yale‑Kilgore Road) or take it home
- Dog owners: please do a poop patrol before leaving
🛏 Bedding, Towels & Laundry
This is a shared family cabin — not an Airbnb.
- Washer/dryer is not connected this summer.
- Bedding varies by visit — check in with Mary before heading up.
- Towels (bath, hand, washcloth, kitchen) are available.
- Dog towels + cleaning rags: laundry room shelves.
- After use: place towels in the laundry basket and return them to Pocatello per your arrangement.
🍽 Outdoor Dining
- Large black metal table + six chairs (location varies).
- Tablecloths: white hutch, bottom right.
- Black & white tablecloth fits the outdoor table.
🔥 Blackstone Griddle

🔐 Security, Electricity & Safety
- Lock windows and doors when leaving for extended periods.
- Window hardware is older — please be gentle.
- Turn off unused lights, fans, and electronics.
- Supervise children and pets, especially near the upstairs railing.
- Lock car doors — bears have been known to investigate.

🛠 Damages
- Please report repairs or replacements ASAP.
- If you break it, you’re responsible.

The cabin is usually stocked with: Cleaning supplies • Bug spray • Sunscreen • Paper towels • Plates • Foil • Wrap • Ziplocks • Limited spices • Teas • Coffee • Toilet paper • Basic toiletries • First aid kit • Tools • Flashlights • Matches • Bear spray • Blankets • Pillows • Fans • Coats • Some beverages (replace or leave something new)
Food in the cream cabinet/kitchen bar is okay to use — just let us know. Books, puzzles, movies — borrow freely.

- No Wi‑Fi or cable (for now).
- Cell service is spotty — plan ahead.
- DVDs available; Elk Creek Gas Station rents movies.

🛏 Cabin Basics
Where is the light switch for the kitchen table and bar? On the right as you step up from the great room into the kitchen — on the flat shelf near the black spindle.
Is there Wi‑Fi or cable? No — enjoy nature! DVDs and books available.
Is cell service reliable? Spotty. Download anything important before arriving.
Can I bring my pet? Yes — supervise them and clean up after them. Cover furniture with an extra bed sheet to protect quilts.

Do I need to bring towels or bedding? Towels are provided. Bedding varies — check with Mary.
Are cleaning supplies provided? Yes — under the kitchen sink and in the laundry room cupboard.
